Garment Production

 The Problem

The waste generated from Garment Production is derived from cutting scraps, fabric roll ends, big cut pieces, unfinished garments, defected/rejected garments, and overproduction.

 One Solution

Beira is a sustainable Scottish brand that creates beautiful, functional, limited edition, luxury womenswear using the ethical remanufacturing of discarded materials from the luxury fashion industry. Through our circular sourcing strategy, radical price transparency and focus on social justice, our vision is to be leaders in responsible luxury.

About the Solution

Born from leveraging the value of waste, Beira offers a disruptive, honest approach to luxury and fashion. We focus on three key aspects.

New Luxury:

Designing products for attachment, trust, reliability, and durability. Our collections are limited edition and focus on investment pieces to be cherished for a lifetime.

Ethically Made and Transparent:

Providing full disclosure on our supply chain practices, and information on excellent artisan wages. Made in Italy in a solar powered factory, we know who makes our clothes.

Circular Economy and Reverse Resources:

All raw materials are sourced from luxury fashion industry discards such as end of rolls, cut pieces, and small scraps. The waste then inspires the design, whilst saving the fabric from landfill. This extends resource efficiency and resource value.

For the good of the planet, social justice, and the future of the global economy, sustainability in fashion production is essential, not a luxury.

Triple Bottom Line

Sustainability Impact Measurements

Environmental: 85% reduction in CO2 on average for our garments through embracing the circular economy and reverse resources sourcing strategy.

Social: By providing a transparent breakdown of garment production costs, our customers value our commitment to paying artisans an average €28 per hour.

Economic: 72.75% approximate cost reduction on the discarded materials sourced to produce the products and livery compared to buying virgin materials.

WORLD LEADERS,
ACT NOW

Planet: Regulation to support degrowth models and reduce inventory of new clothing, and incentivise onshoring and sustainable production across the world through tax breaks and funding support.

People: Expedite modern slavery legislation and regulation, and legislation to introduce a garment trade adjudicator to eliminate poor working conditions across the world.
